Some people, notably those with autoimmune disorders, become concerned when they hear that good nutrition or nutritional products will “boost the immune system.” This week’s question addresses this issue:
“Is it possible to overbuild the immune system? And, is it important to take immune modulators as opposed to or in conjunction with immune simulators?”
Rather than artificially stimulating the immune system, the supplements I recommend are whole food products that include all-natural, balanced nutrition the way it is found in plants. This way, the body will regulate the immune system appropriately and as needed for each individual.
I would not feel comfortable with an immune booster, because one could overdo it. The body knows how to regulate itself when given the essential nutrition.
Concerning autoimmune disorders, where it is said that the immune system is “too active” and destroying the body’s own tissue, this is not an accurate description of the situation, and the immune system is not at fault.
The body attacks its own tissue usually only when poisons such as fluoride and mercury are either embedded in that tissue or have deformed the body’s enzymes. This causes the body not to recognize its own tissue and to treat it as a harmful invader, so the immune system is actually doing what it’s supposed to do in this case.
The medical field, completely ignorant in the areas of nutrition and detoxification, blames the immune system rather than toxins for the “disease,” as it usually does.
Water fluoridation, mercury fillings and vaccines commonly cause autoimmune disorders. Fluoride is known for causing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fibromyalgia. According to John Yiamouyiannis, PhD, an expert on fluoride, the shape of a person’s enzymes is changed when exposed to fluoride, and this causes the immune system to attack the misshapen enzymes.
Avoiding fluoridated water and toothpaste in addition to getting good nutrition will help. I have seen people’s lives change dramatically who were suffering from an autoimmune disorder when they changed their habits, or at least began taking a good nutritional supplement.
I have seen incredible results with Modifilan for those wanting to build their immune system. You can learn more about that here.

If it’s an urgent situation and you don’t have time to do cancer research, try getting a consult from Ralph Moss, PhD.
I appreciate your support and applaud your efforts in educating yourself about your health.
I would also like to add that Christie Aphrodite has done some amazing videos on sharing her autoimmune disease successes on her healing journey that I feel is worth looking in to. While I mostly speak on the physical effects on health related topics, Christie addresses more of the trauma aspect of these conditions and how Self Love can contribute to the total package of self healing.
Remember, no one will ever care more about your health than you!
