This is one of the questions Sydney Ross Singer and Christie Aphrodite addressed in this 2 part video back in June 19, 2013 on American Freedom Radio.
- Does looking good have to hurt?
- Why do we alter our bodies? (shaving, tattooing, piercing, bodyshaping clothing, cosmetics, plastic surgery)
- Are there any implications on our health because of it?
- Do we as a society reward disease and discourage health?
- The truth about Blood pressure
While
this might be one of the most non medical shows we’ve done, I think
it’s one of the most important because it causes us to ask questions
about some of the things we have been led to believe in society.
WHY do we think the way we do???
WHY do we hate ourselves so much we feel we need to be altered?
A careful examination of the issues addressed in this show will lead you on your way to freedom!!!

about Sydney:
Sydney
Ross Singer is a medical anthropologist, the author of several
groundbreaking and controversial health books, and the director of the
Institute for the Study of Culturogenic Disease, located in Hawaii. He
is internationally recognized for his revolutionary and shocking
research linking breast cancer with the wearing of tight bras, which he
describes in his book, Dressed To Kill.
Trained in biochemistry,
anthropology and medicine, Sydney is pioneering a new field of health
research, called Applied Medical Anthropology, shedding light on the
many ways our culture is making us sick. Since his work often challenges
industries that promote or profit from damaging lifestyles, much of his
research has been suppressed and censored, especially by the medical
industry.

What do you think?
Do you alter your body and why?
I
am not saying it is bad to do so, as there are many reasons people make
these choices…if it makes you feel good, then by all means, you
SHOULD be doing it!
But if you are doing things to yourself that DO
NOT FEEL GOOD, then might I suggest you start asking yourself WHY you
are doing these thing?
